Stillpoint: Helix is the culmination of a five-year creative process, during which kindred spirits of Purl were invited to reimagine the title track of his seminal album, originally released by the legendary Silent Season record label back in 2015.
12 artists from 7 different countries produced the 12 strands of the Helix, and a perfect coda (13) for a breathtaking unfolding, leading us from the depths of the still void, to the heights of ecstasy experienced at the peak moment on a dance floor. The incredible diversity among these versions presents a listening experience that flows so well in album form, with surprises around every bend. Far from ever feeling repetitive, the echoing of a familiar theme instead feels like welcome glimpses of a common home viewed through vastly different lenses spread out across the world.
